No the melt down is not me (at this particular moment)....
it's our electrical situation.
Or lack of situation.
I decided to make good old Southern biscuits and gravy. I am downstairs. I have the oven on, stove on, small space heater on, t.v. on, computer on.
Unbeknownst to me...
Harry is on the 2nd floor with the hot water heater on, small space heater on, dryer on, and radiators on.
After about 3 minutes with everything being ON.
Everything went out.
Electrical outages are normal here... so the first thing we do is check the neighbors to see if they have power. At 7:00 a.m. in the morning... we hated to ring their doorbell. So Harry went over to ring our neighbor who is on leave back in the states to ring his doorbell.
It works.... therefore the neighbors have power. To be absolutely sure... the next step is to check the meter boxes.
Hansen #3 is currently not moving at all... while the others spin round and round.
So it is a Hansen household problem.
Down to the breaker.
And it is too hot to touch. Not only is it almost smoking it's so hot, but the plastic around the fuse is wilted / melted looking.
I think we found our problem.
After a quick trip to the market. Brief stint of cooling off for the fuse box... we successfully changed everything out... and viola we have power again. All is right with the world again.
Except for the biscuits that never rose.
Blessings,
