Fork in the road

Greetings,

Just down the street.. is a road reconstruction project. 

It's been going on for some time now.  I think it has something to do with the water pipes... remember the pipes fiasco here.   

But this debacle... may have dire consequences.

Looks harmless enough....

You can kindof see some sort of construction with the road...

Still... even right up close... it's hard to really se what's going on?

That there is a giant hole in the middle of the road.  And right smack dab in the middle of a fork in the road.

The bright orange barriers are somewhat helpful in daytime, but at night... wow, they are not reflective and serve little purpose.

And a few more for good measure. 

And in case you did not see the metal rods sticking up from the ground... here's a close up...

Again, not really helpful during daylight hours... and useless at night as you are screaming down the road headed home.

And these little buggers line the street for quite a ways... and have been for quite a while now. 

I wonder if I will miss Greek roads?  And replacing the shocks more often than what's normal?  And the CV joints?  And the brakes from sudden braking all the time?  And do not get me started about balancing and alignment!
