Lady with the Lysol

True to form.... when I razz on Harry .... it returns to me... ten fold.

Just like the time when Harry was laid out on our closet floor... rolling around withering in pain. Something was wrong with his foot. Harry has staples, screws, rods, pins, and no telling what else in his feet. He thought something had come a loose or moved and was stabbing him. I think this was the first and only time Harry has asked to go to the Emergency Room.
So he settled on a walk-in clinic and 30 minutes later... the Doc sends us on our way.
Diagnosis: splinter in his foot.

A tiny splinter caused so much havoc for poor Harry.

I did not let him live it down.

Then weeks later, I love God's sense of humor... while I was simply closing the refrigerator door. You see... many years ago when it was in style to have all those bottles of peppers, olives, herbs floating in vinegar or oil. Yeah those, well I had several bottles on top of the refrigerator. Then one day... for some crazy reason.... I closed the door and a bottle comes crashing to the ground. Luckily I dodge out of the way.

Smashing to thousands of pieces tiny shards of glass. A few projectile pieces landed in my shin. To make matters worse....the bottle was vinegar, which stung like crazy... so here I am jumping around trying to blow on my leg, hop around the broken glass pieces, and figure out how to clean up the mess now mixed with my blood.

Several hours later, an emergency room visit, and 3 stitches...my first stitches ever....I realized the concept of what goes around comes around.

But I guess I forgot considering I razed Harry about being sick this weekend.

Monday morning began....

with Kayne coming home sick from work and requesting a doctor appointment. I felt bad for the little tike...so we headed to base. I am not a fan of doctor's offices, unless I am sick. My thinking: if I am already sick... that what's there left to lose. However, when I am well.... well it's a new ballgame.

In we walk.... I notice the room full of people. We have a small clinic here. And the most people / sick people I have seen in the waiting room are about 2. Well... not this day. God was having a blast with me. The room was filled with 12 walk-ins. 12.

12 very sick people. Sneezing and coughing and spreading their germs EVERYWHERE! I was hoping for a quick visit. But oh no. We sat there for little over an hour. I tried not to touch anything. People where handling the free pamphlets from the wall. Then .... then putting the back! Kayne even read a few.... then tried to hand me one. Not thanks. I am all read up on STD's and self breast exams. No thanks.

Several more sick people came in. Even one in an ambulance. After enduring the wait.... Kayne finally received his diagnosis: sick with the flu like everyone else.

Unfortunately, he was given over-the-counter meds. We are the kind of people who like antibiotics. I learned many moons ago from my allergist how to decipher mucus... from clear to milky to yellow and finally green. And Kayne's progression signified an infection.

So we went to the nearest Greek pharmacy .......

....and were able to buy it over the counter. Socialism at it's finest. For 6 Euros we were able to complete Kayne's entourage of meds.

All for Kayne

And all for me... and the house. I mean... only marketing from the States would actually display "Kills Flu Virus" on the top of the spray can. Capitalism at it's finest. (I bought 3 cans.... you never know when you might need them.)

Poor Kayne had a rough go. Luckily, he took the right combo of meds and slept through most of the day.

Even through the constant haze of Lysol flu killer mist!

I was like Florence Nightingale, but instead of her lamp.... I had my can of Lyscol Flu killer!

Blessings to those caring for the infirmed,

Kristie
