House hunting Day 6

Greetings,

Time to regroup... before we kill each other.

Our stress level went from existent to full out in your face today.  It's Tuesday and officially the 3rd day we have treaded the streets of Norfolk in search of an abode.  And officially I am tired of looking.  Harry is officially stressed to the max.

Late last night... I took Winona OFF the list.... something about it just did not feel right.  If it needs a new roof, has bad sloping, and tons of little things inside... then why not buy Westover.  And Harry's stress level reaches new heights.

So after an extensive internet search... we have widened our parameters and lowered our expectations concerning a few things (location, location, location).  I want downtown (where Westover is) , but have you heard the saying, "Champagne taste with a beer pocketbook".... well that's me right now.  And quite frankly... Harry tastes: free tap water.

Back to the drawing board.  We call our Realtor early to give her the new locals... about 30.  She realizes it will be a marathon day.  Hopefully, our last.... another day of this and I will scream!

...

The day progresses as planned.  Although today, unlike the others... if I pull up to the drive, or even step through the front door and know that I do not like it... I do not continue through the house.  No time.  We pack up and head to the next one.

House after house.

They are all starting to run together....  we have catchy names for them like Stain Glass House (house with stained glass windows), Dog House (house where a HUGE dog was locked in a room, Toilet House (house where there was a toilet under the staircase), Sick Kid House (house where there was a kid home from school with the stomach flu), The Doc's House (Navy Dr.'s house)... etc.  we were so creative!

House after house we trudged on.

Until dark.

I had only one near mental breakdown... in a parking lot ... complete with tears.

Dried it up... and headed on.

There are only 2 on the list now.

Balcony House.

(Nice backyard for Miss Peabody)

And...

The On the Busy Street with No Parking House.

It's a toss up?

One is in much better shape than the other.  One is in the area I want to live and the other is a few miles down the street.

NEITHER are Westover.

Whatever.

Blessings,
